Where can I find dog breeders in the New Orleans area?

I am finally getting a dog (Yay!) and i really want to get it from a breeder. I’d rather pick it up than have it shipped from across the country. I am not sure of what breed i want yet. I just want something that is over 10 pounds and a decent size. (i don’t want to be able to step on it.) Please recommend some New Orleans area breeders. Thanks

Give a call to Causeway vet clinic and I bet they could recomend some to ya. They are btw, the best vet clinic in town even though they are in Meterrie

huh? We cant just recommend breeders. Lol. Figure out what breed fits you best, then visit the breed club website and look up on the list of reputable breeders for one in your area.

Ask this again after you’ve decided which breed you want. Go the the AKC website and research some breeds that you’re interested in, and use their breeder referral to find a good breeder in your area.
If you aren’t picky about the breed, try going to a shelter to find a dog that would be a good match. http://www.petfinder.com will help you find a rescue dog.
