Has anyone purchased a dog from Valleyview dog breeders in Mirboo, Victoria?

December 16, 2009 - 4:54 pm 7 Comments

I would be interested to know if anyone has received a puppy from Valleyview Dog breeders and had health or other problems?
Thanks for the replies. Yes, I believe they are a puppy farm and breeding off site as well. Some one mentioned they received a dog from Valleyview and it arrived sick and died. I know someone that happened to as well. Maybe they are the same person.

I would never buy an animal from a Puppy Mill.

It takes all sorts I suppose.

    I havnt but a quick look at their website..I’d be very hesitant to purchase a dog from a breeder that breed more then 2 types.
    Valleyview breeds 5 plus types…which at least here in the US screams loud and clear puppy mill.

    Not sure, but with the "oodles" of these dogs in the playground at our local school in Melbourne I will enquire around tomorrow if I remember! Seems to me they are "officially" breeding mutts! If you really want a dog with guaranteed qualities go to a Poodle breeder, or a Cocker Spaniel breeder etc. Like the other answerer I would be wary of anyone breeding purely for sales to the public. Put yourself in the hands of a good breeder who KNOWS the breed you are really interested in. All these oodles simply mean people can try to tell you the dogs won’t cause allergies – not entirely true, better to go for an accredited breed. If you want a mutt (and I love mutts and purebreds alike) then don’t get scammed into paying $600+ for one!

    NO.
    First of all, all of those are not real breeds. Any snoodle, doodle, poo, or whatever the h*** they are going to call it, is a MUTT. thats all. Just because they are going to give it some cute name does NOT mean they should be cranked out like cars. Just because people are stupid enough to pay big bucks for these "purebred -doodles" or whatever does not mean they are pure ANYTHING.
    save yourself some money and go get a mix from the shelter.
    If you are looking for a mix anyway, I would just go to the pound. these are not real breeders, these are like people who mixed dogs in Sims Pets to see how they would look, but decided to do it in real life. They are just mutts, and there is no reason to purposely breed them and give them dumb names when there are thousands of the same mixes about to be killed in shelters.

    Valley View dog breeder is what you call a Puppy Farm or Puppy MILL. A breeder to AVOID at all cost. I don’t believe its the typcial cage farm, i believe this is one of those tricky open MILL, which make it quite challenging. However the conditions will still be FILTHY. There no way they be able to properly socialise the pups with human contact with that amount of animals. So buying a pup would guarantee health issues and temperment issues particular fear related due to lack of handling at a young age. These pup will receive little to no human contact.

    If you want a designer mutt check your local animal shelter.

    Red flags
    1.Way more then 2 breeds of PUREBRED DOGS

    They have mutts of Labradoodles=Labrador x Poodle,
    Schnoodles=Schnauzeer x Poodle,
    Spoodles=Spaniel x Poodle
    .Roodles=Rottweiler x Poodle
    Maltipoo=Maltese x Poodle

    At least 4 varieties of mutt mixes

    Purebreds listed
    Labrador
    Schnauzer
    Cocker Spaniel
    Rottweiler
    Poodle

    Have 5 differient purebred dogs

    These are common traits of a PUPPY FARM!

    Number 2; Delivery- This screams a RED flag a responsible breeder would NOT want to ship by air or meet at the local airport. They want you to meet at the Kennels. This breeder obviously trying to avoid you meeting the kennel and seeing the shocking conditions where there pup live.

    Number 3; Very Very poor guarantee. They just offer to replace a defective puppy. A reputable breeder will guarantee at least 2years. However remember NO reputable or responsible breeder would consider breeding MUTTS

    Number 4; The downright lies on the Page Labradoodles LOW shedding, The cockerpoo low shedding, Realtiy is POODLE X in 99% of cases will shed like the main breed, IF lucky only 1% of pup from these Poodle mixes will be low shedding

    If you are planning on investing in one of these breeds (the goldendoodle, the cockapoo, spoodles, roodles,schnoodles, maltipoos, I guess that’s your prerogative, but please just hear me out first.

    What is This New Fad?
    If, somehow, you have missed it, there’s a new trend in celebrity dog ownership: strang, unnatural crosses of unhealthy dogs that people pay thousands of dollars to own. They call them "designer dogs."

    Look at these Amazon links to the left! There are books now about these popular dog "breeds," describing their temperaments and how to raise them. Again with the wanting to smack people. These animals are not a new breed; they are mutts! Accidents!

    Now, I’m all for the owning of mutts. I, myself, have never had anything else. But to breed (that is, intentionally) is to choose two champion animals with a high quality of various traits and to test the parents for congenital diseases. Puggle, labradoodle, pekepoo, or any other cutesie-named dog breeders are not doing this. They are picking cute animals and forcing them to breed beyond their capacity. They are not breeding to "improve the breed." They are breeding solely to make money, and that poses problems for the animals and for their owners.

    So Why Not Get One?
    Well, sure, they’re cute! They’re dogs, and these specific ones are designed to be cute! But they’re also a fad, and if you’ve ever given in to one, you know that they don’t last. When you get a dog, you are committing to him for life, not for however long you happen to want him around.

    And even if you want to carry your dog around like our friend Jake does, the dog is not a child either. In fact, I recommend the hub entitled Is a Dog Human? for more on that. The answer is, basically, no, and if you expect this designer breed to act as a human in your family, you will only disappointed. These dogs are not special or exempt from that rule because they are "designer."

    What is to be Done?
    Still think you need one of these "designer hybrids"? Think you can’t even deal with adopting a brand new, accidental "hybrid" from the pound? .

    Basically, all that can be done to overcome this destructive fad is to keep a level head. If you want a Labrador x Poodle, or Schnauzer x Poodle or Spaniel x Poodle I almost guarantee there is one at your local shelter. But if you buy a "labradoodle", "Schnoodle", "Spoodle" etc you are encouraging puppy mill and backyard breeders to breed more trendy dogs who will not necessarily be healthy.

    Pet overpopulation is enough of a problem in this country. Please don’t add to the problem.

    Myth 2. Poodle x make all litters low shedding and allergy friendly
    Fact; 99% of Poodle x will shed and are NOT good for allergy suffers, IF lucky only 1 out of all Poodle mixes will be low shedding. Some pups appear not to shed, but when the adult coat comes in, it start shedding between 18month2years. Later to be surrended to the local animal shelter.

    Don’t be fooled by the whimsical names, the intriguing descriptions, and the high prices! It’s just a lot of poo. You can find “designer dogs” of every size, shape, color and personality as close as your local humane society or rescue service and at a far more reasonable cost. Why not visit there first and save a life? You’ll be glad you did!
