DOG BREEDERS & THEIR PATRONS KILL MILLIONS OF HOMELESS DOGS ACROSS AMERICA

April 17, 2010 - 7:45 pm 25 Comments

NOT ONLY DID JOE BIDEN ENCOURAGE AMERICA TO BUY BREEDER PUPPIES AND PATRONIZE PUPPY MILLS, WHAT HE HAS DONE WAS BAD FOR OUR ECONOMY. America will be buying AKC registered dogs from breeders-in essence he has
signed the Death Warrant for mllions of homeless dogs across America. Does he care?? OF COURSE NOT!!!

Read on–PETA already sent Joe Biden a letter-he still bought from a breeder. Looks like more of the Bush administration to me.

THE ABOVE AD IS OLD-ACTUALLY ABOUT 30 MILLION DOGS, CATS, PUPPIES AND KITTENS ARE KILLED IN AMERICA’S DOG POUNDS EVERY SINGLE YEAR, AND MANY POUNDS SPEND OVER A *MILLION* DOLLARS IN TAX-PAYERS’ COUNTY MONIES WHICH ALSO FUND LAW ENFORCEMENT (THERE ARE MASSIVE POLICE OFFICER LAY OFFS). MIAMI-DADE FLORIDA SPENT A WHOPPING 10 MILLION DOLLARS IN 2007 TO RUN THEIR DOG POUND AND ABOUT 33,000 ANIMALS WERE KILLED THAT YEAR ALONE the cost to run dog pounds-and these animals die terrible deaths, usually by gas chambers, is escalating every year as more and more animals are left homeless. As for “loyalty”, ALL dogs are loyal regardless of the breed or mixed breed. shame, shame…
**FACTS ON GASSING**
Documentation shows that animals can struggle and wail for up to ten minutes before death in gas chambers. Some bite themselves and each other in panic, beat their heads against the chamber walls, choke and vomit while being forced to inhale carbon monoxide. Groups of animals are often gassed together. Carbon monoxide is not effective for baby animals, for very old, sick or pregnant animals, since they may not inhale enough gas to die. Even healthy adult animals have survived the first gassing. Shelter employees admit to gassing the same animals up to three times.

    You just don’t get …
You just don’t get it, do you. Before any meaningful change to the laws of this country can happen, you have to win over the hearts and minds of the average person. What you and PITA just can’t seem to understand is that you are never, ever going to win people over using tactics like this. What does it do to your credibility, and the credibility of an otherwise worthy cause when the best argument you can muster is to insult and alienate people who would otherwise support and agree with you?

  2. WinterHaven Says:

    According to FBI …
According to FBI stats and profiling, serial killers have no concern for animals. And I see nothing wrong or disgusting about talking and ADDRESSING the cruelty and horrors of homeless animals. It is like you who perpetuate animal cruelty as you all have NO CONCERN for homeless animals whatsoever and spread propaganda so you all can continuously breed your cash crops, that is, breeder dogs.

  3. young95 Says:

    Oh please. …
Oh please. Equating someone who thinks that the PITA commercial is way over the top with a serial killer is kinda lame. But then, thats pretty common for people with “agendas”. Meaning, that they get so caught up in their own self-righteousness that they lose touch with reality. To me, that is the root cause for why PITA is not, and never will be a viable advocate for the welfare of animals. If anything, they harm the GOOD cause of animal welfare by pushing disgusting things like this spot.

    You sound like a …
You sound like a disturbed person who considers animal welfare “scum-suckin, bottom feeding” as you put it. Did you know Serial killers always start off abusing animals then get their kicks doing the same thing to people later. Frankly your comment disturbs me.

    “Responsible …
“Responsible breeders” are not going to say anything about congenital defects because countless tons of people bought pure breeds and were unprepared, years later, for the enormous vet bills dominant and recessive genetic disorders cost them including the pain and suffering of their pet. HOW can ANYBODY be a responsible “breeder” when countless millions of animals are slaughtered (forget the word “euthanized”) in dog pounds with epidemics of homeless unwanted animals. We don’t need more bred.

  7. AgainstCruelty1 Says:

    You say “fighting …
You say “fighting abusive behavior toward animals is okay” but later encourage people to patronize animal cruelty. You sound disturbing, and patronizing breeders is patronizing incest-pure breds-regardless the distance of the two mated dogs-are still pure breeds = incest.

  9. WinterHaven Says:

No, I agree, we are …
No, I agree, we are not-we are worse because humans know what they are doing. And ONLY HUMANS take sport in killing. No other animal on earth kills for entertainment. and that is 100% true. Even leading criminologists with doctorates have said that.

  10. spartyweller Says:

    and remember this, …
and remember this, animals are animals and humans are humans, stop putting animals before humans. Peta acts like we are on the same level. WE ARE NOT.

  11. spartyweller Says:

    Fighting against …
Fighting against abusive behavior towards animals is ok. But Peta is a disgusting organization that tries to push way too many illogical views on too many people, forcefully in some cases. You people need to reel it back in a little. You are not gaining any fans by this behavior. Using a small child on your ad against Biden is just awful . PEOPLE DONT LISTEN TO PETA. BUY A DOG FROM WHERE YOU WANT, THEIR PROPOGANDA IS ILLOGICAL AND HEAVILY BIASED. time for a breakfast with eggs, bacon and sausage

  12. Szedg Says:

    Responsible …
Responsible breeders will know the congenital defects their breed is susceptible to, and will inform folks of these disorders before they commit to the animal–if someone seems clueless about vet bills, they can screen them out. If you aren’t prepared to take care of your animal if they get sick or injured, you shouldn’t have pets. Some breeds do have a higher likelyhood of developing certain disorders, and discerning pet owners will likely pick a breed they know they can care for properly.

  13. Szedg Says:

    That’s a ridiculous …
That’s a ridiculous slogan. Not everyone who wants purebred is going to say “Oh, I’ll just get any old animal from the shelter.” And if you put honest breeders out of business, these people who want certain breeds might just start looking into BYBs or puppy mills, or breeding their own dogs together. Fight for stricter regulations against parent/child mating, advocate breed-specific rescues over pet stores, but don’t lump every breeder together.

  14. WinterHaven Says:

    A government leader …
A government leader is supposed to be a role model – for every breeder animal – a shelter dog dies. He encouraged americans to buy from breeders. We don’t need more dogs in the world when countless millions DIE, gassed to death in pounds.

  15. WinterHaven Says:

    My vet said …
My vet said practically every pure bred basset hound or Pekineses will get glaucoma. My basset hound went blind with it when she was only 8 years old. Overall genetic disorders happen to pure breeds more so than mixed breeds-certainly no dog is immune to disorders, but pure breeds are at much higher risk and people have no idea how expensive the vet bills are until they get hit in the face with it.

  16. young95 Says:

I know that PITA is …
I know that PITA is a bit out there, but this is about as scum-suckin, bottom-feeding as it gets.

  17. Szedg Says:

    You also ignored my …
You also ignored my comment re: overpopulation. I know it’s cliche, but “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Putting one puppy mill out of business prevents countless unwanted, unhealthy pups, while adopting one from a shelter saves, well, one. Focus your anger at the breeders who breed for looks rather than health, or for money rather than improving a breed, and “accidental” pairings that could have been prevented with a spay. Biden’s breeder may be one of these, so go for it.

  18. Szedg Says:

    WinterHaven: Yes, …
WinterHaven: Yes, some breeders do parent/child combinations, and I would never encourage anyone to deal with them. But I certainly don’t believe every single Sheltie, for example, is in the same immediate family. And shelter animals aren’t guaranteed to be healthier. My friend’s purebred went 18 years with only cataracts from age, while my 8-year-old shelter mutt recently had two knee surgeries and weeks of physical therapy to the tune of $5,500.

  19. WinterHaven Says:

    You mean stupid …
You mean stupid YOU-purebreds carry genetic disorders from constant inbreeding. It’s called incest. A pure breed is a pure breed regardless of distance. That is why incest is taboo for humans because the offspring have bad outcomes. Many pure breed require huge bank rolls from all the vet bills and many of them are a bit kookoo from all of that creepy inbreeding. Breeders contribute to animal overpopulation. You are an idiot if you can’t figure that out.

  20. Szedg Says:

    Stupid ad. Shelter …
Stupid ad. Shelter animals are more often than not the result of BYBs, puppy mills, and irresponsible pet owners’ “oopsie litters” than anything. If you want to cut down on shelter animals, educate about speutering and work to bring down unethical breeders and mills. Don’t guilt trip people for going to a breeder that only breeds to improve the animal–for temperment, health, and longevity. Good grief.
