What are some questions to ask a golden retriever dog breeder?

I really want a puppy, so what are some really good questions to ask the breeder?..there are a lot of other families who want the dogs too, and i just want to be able to show them how much i want them through these questions.

There are many questions (most of which I will leave to the other respondents). Here are two question I like to ask …
Why did you choose that sire and that dam for your breeding? What did you hope to accomplish with this litter?

Can I see the genetic test results? OFA, CERF, MSU? If they don’t have the results of these tests then do not buy.
Do you show your dogs?
How long have you been involved with the breed?
Are you involved with all breed clubs or Golden Retriever clubs?
Can I see a pedigree?
How did you get started with this breed?

Ask the breeder if the dogs have been tested for hip dysplacia and the other health problems with the breed. I wouldn’t ask to many questions if i was the breeder I would think that you weren’t very knowledgeable with the breed if you did. I would tell the breeder what you have to offer like. If you have a swimming pool, a big back yard, a fenced in back yard,walking distance per day, knowledge about training, and so on and so forth. Make the breeder really want to give their dog to you.

Excellent reply Zeussy. Everything a potential puppy owner needs to ask is here. There’s nothing I could add to this.
Be prepared to be given the Third Degree from the Breeder also.
