The question of a dog breeder advertising a dog that they do not own.?

I am the owner and have put on AKC titles on the dog. She has my dog on a puppy mill site to sell her puppies. She co-bred the litter that my dog came from. She did not have the litter herself. But she is still listed as one of the breeders. Is there any law to stop her from doing this.

Probably not if she listed as co breeder on the registration application.
If she is advertizing it as one of her breedings she is technically correct. Morally it may suck but legally she is listed as a breeder. Unless she specifically states she is the sole breeder or something else that is wrong theres not likely much you can do about it. Sorry.

If im not mistaken the owner of the dam is considered the owner of the litter and the breeder. If she owns only the sire to your dog she may not be legally considered the breeder. It wouldnt hurt to contact akc and ask them who they consider the breeder to be. You could also contact legal aid for your area, they handle civil issues based on income, or contact a local lawyer familiar with breeding issues. May be a bit tough to locate one.

If she is co-owner of the dog there is nothing you can do. If you own the dog outright and your dog did not sire her litter then yes you can stop her.
She needs your permission to advertise your dog.

If you have a contract and you bought her on a co-ownership agreement then she has as much right as you do to advertise any resulting puppies.

What is the owner classification on the AKC registration? What does it say on the stud contract? What does it say on the litter application?

If any of these things have her as co-owner or co-breeder you are out of luck.
