What dog breed sheds the least and is good for young kids?
My parents are thinking of getting a dog for my 11 and 9 year old bro n sister but my mom wants a dog that doesn’t shed very much we’be had a dog before but it had to be put down after a year due to numerous tumors. I wanted to know what breed of dogs do not shed much and are good with kids / playful?
Well, poodle crosses are really sweet and playful, great with kids and small. My cousin has a little dog which is a mix between a poodle and a Maltese Terrier, and she is very adorable. They have really curly fur, it doesn’t shed at all and they have such a sweet personality.
My cousins dog, Marley, is very playful and energetic. She is really quite calm and loving when in the house, she’ll walk around, like your ankles and sit on your lap. She even falls asleep sometimes! As soon as she sees the lead, she sits for us at the front door and waits, and she is very good on the lead. When she’s in the park, she is very social, runs very fast, loves to run back and forth, but she’s not big enough to pick up a ball! She will bring us back a stick, though.
I have known 5 malti-poo’s in my life, and they have all been the same, very lovely and small, loving and they all adore kids. They can live for up to 10 years. I highly recommend a malti-poo, especially around young children, as they actually don’t shed at all!

Well no small dogs they are not good with kids, I would definitley get a lab they sre the best but get a lab thats about a year old. Like from a rsecue center I have always had labs and never had a problem. They can be bred to hunt to fishand to just be a family pet definitley a lab

A lot of people like Shih Tzus for kids. They need grooming, but don’t shed. Go to an animal rescue league and ask them. Many short-furred dogs will shed, but are good with kids. Boxers, Labs and Golden Retrievers are good with kids, but all will probably shed and will jump if you don’t train them.

Do not let the name and reputation frighten you. I have owned Pit-bulls since I was a child and currently own two lovely girls. If you get them from a good breeder who’s treated them right, they are the best family pet. I realize that there is a lot of bad speculation around the entire breed of Pit-bull, but give a good one a shot and you won’t regret it.

I have a two puppies that are morkies.(yorkie and Maltese) One reason we got them is because they don’t shed much and they are hypoallergenic. They are also great with kids. My puppies are 5 pounds but some morkies are larger.
