@evanman7 Well the …
@evanman7 Well the “getting crazy” is a very very old myth so don’t believe anyone who tells you that garbage. As for their health, there is more than just the Wobbler’s and heart disease (called cardiomyopathy). There’s also hip dysplasia, eye problems, von Willebrand’s Disease (blood clotting disorder) and elbow dysplasia but this last one is only a minor problem. Not trying to dissuade you from getting one, they are definitely worth having. Mine was almost 15 when I had to let him go.

@tea4al First timer …
@tea4al First timer can definitely owned Doberman. Just be sure to get it from reputed breeder. Search google for the good breeder near new and also its review written by other buyers.
If you buy a puppy, then you will be comfortable with him and he will be with you so your fear will be gone.
Take care.

@evanman7 are you …
@evanman7 are you talking about the myth that their brains swell and they go crazy and attack their owners? i can guarantee you that is a complete myth. i have no idea where this myth ever would have come from but if you talk to a breeder they will also tell you it’s in no way true. the only time a doberman would ever even think of turning on their owner was if they were horribly abusive but thats the same as any other dog

on his chest or …
on his chest or hindquarters, just touch him hard with ur hands. Pretend that your hand is biting him. This should be a soft touch and when you touch say no. The touch should be enough firm for him to get distracted from the biting. While you are doing this , keep yourself very calm and say “No” in an assertive tone. Don’t scream or raise your voice. If you have an excited voice he will think you are excited from his biting and he will continue doing that.

When he tries to chew on you, push the corner of his cheek into his mouth so he bites himself instead. He’ll learn that it’s unpleasant and won’t do it anymore.
