Alabais and CAOs are two SEPERATE breeds. The cao is more of a working breed than a alabai. Do your research

Alabais are not …
Alabais are not working dogs nor are they old dogs. They have barely been around 200 years. The central asian shepards and Other kar dogs been around. THey have just recently in history been breeding them for a specific look. THey are all just the basic same. Alabais are a cross between the kar dogs and neos of the area and time. They are not fighters, they are barely ever used as they lose time and time again. There is much better dogs, like the caos, kangals and such.

One should do a research on the History of the Alabia before making these assumptions… FYI within 2000 yrs of Central Asian History there were never really “show” dogs. It was all based how the dog performed doing its tasks as herding, protecting and fighting. Nowadays there are some breeders that might be turning some of the dogs into “show” dogs but Alabia has a rich History as a great working dog.

The alabais are what I am talking about. They were never really used for that, alabais are mostly a show breed. THe kangals, caos, and srs are what are used for that type of work.

interesting where you came up with this theory. If what you said was true I dont think the breed would have survived for over 2000 years of herding and protecting sheep and fighting off different predators. I’m sure any overweight unproportional dog can have lots of joint and other health problems. For example the current “Pig-bulls” that are being bred for looks.
