I have two other dogs, one Boxer and one Chiweenie and their poop is solid. Its driving me crazy picking up this runny crap everyday.
Some dogs don’t do well on certain food. We had that same problem, until we switched our dog to a food that had no lamb in it.
We have a boxer dog and want to breed her eventually, she is only 2 years old and is on her 3rd heat at the moment…the Vet said that it is ok to breed on their 2nd season…she still seems so young to me though and she is such a brilliant dog with a wild and silly personality. I am worried that this will change if she becomes a mum?
she should first be shown and earn her CH title to proove that she’s a good example of the breed.
You also need to do genetic health tests thru the OFA, CERF, BAER, Optigen and PennHip to assure she is free of genetic disease.. she also needs a brucellosis test.
You need an experienced breeding mentor to guide you.. research pedigrees, the breed standard, genetics, health issues, mating, whelping, puppy raising, etc
You need money.. it costs to breed.. exams, stud fees, health tests, prenatal care, etc.. all costs.. you should also have at least $3,000-5,000 saved for emergency care.
have your mentor help you compile contracts.. and also a waiting list..
after all this then your mentor can help you select the best stud.
If you’re not willing to do all this, then get her spayed.
Breeding is risky.. not uncommon for dogs to die during pregnancy and whelping… sometimes females may become aggressive and territitorial after having a litter.. not ussually a permanant change, but sometimes it does happen.
Watch Rushy get slapped by Chloe!
Sadly, we had to euthanize poor Rush in October 09 because his lymphoma cancer progressed too far. RIP Rushy

I am debating whether I should get a boxer or a great dane. Confused. They are both great, cute dogs but I can’t pick between them.
~ This is a preference only you should make. Spend time learning about both these breeds. Boxers are a little less maintenance and have less health problems but both can be stubborn to train. Make sure you do plenty of research then it will be easy to make a choice.
preferably a small/medium dog.
I would be particularly interested comments from other boxer owners
get a jack russell…they are loyal brave .. and they will rung rings round a boxer ..keep her fit!
I am very interested in finding out if there are any Boxer dog groups in the Denham Springs area. If not, maybe just a general dog group? Thanks!
Try petfinder.com. It can direct you to local dog groups in your area. If not for boxers, maybe another breed. Or one of the many rescue groups in your area can direct you to the group you are looking for. Good luck
A tribute to our 12 year old boxer boy Rudy who passed away due to complications of DM degenerative myleopathy a disorder all to common in boxers. The video is also dedicated to all boxers and their owners. May we find a cure or a way to prevent common genetic disorders in our beautiful breed….the BOXER!
