I want to breed my dog someday but I don’t know how old she should be.
She should be at least 2 yrs, have all her health certifications, Ch titles, genetics testing, etc…
Its a very expensive, time consuming, detailed process, and if your dog is a pet you may be better off having her spayed and enjoying her as a pet.
The Bull Boxer that I am referring to is a mix between an American Bulldog and a Boxer. There are other types of Bull Boxer mixes, but I would like to know more info on the American Bulldog/Boxer mix. Both parents are registered dogs, and the owner of the pups said that they come with CKC registration?
That’s not a breed so it’s not possible for the pups to become registered.
Just a mutt that people think they can make money off of.
This is my first night to have him and the lady who asked me to take him gave me $50 toward having him fixed she couldn’t keep him because her other dog disliked him major. He seems very sweet iI also keep my 9 month old grandson should I keep he away from him he seen him and was scared of the baby! He just seems to have been badly mistreated and wants to be loved.I had a boxer for several years and never had any trouble with him but I became too attached to him and greived terribly when he died.
Yes keep your 9mo old grandchild away from the dog. A dog as big as a boxer could accidentally kill the child. And if the dog is fearful, then a curious 9mo could get badly bitten from a fear nipper.
And…. if this dog is usually afraid of new things or seems fearful, doesn’t like to have his feet touched, you should really find another dog. Fearfulness in dogs is a genetic trait. Fearful dogs become fear nippers. It is a genetic issue. A nippy chihuahua is a very different animal than a nippy boxer. If it is a fearful dog at that size, you do not want it around children at all.

Boxer
“Developed in Germany, the Boxer is a breed of stocky, medium-sized, short-haired dog. The coat is smooth and fawn or brindled, with or without white markings. Boxers are brachycephalic, and have a square muzzle, mandibular prognathism (an underbite), very strong jaws and a powerful bite ideal for hanging on to large prey. The Boxer was bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser and is part of the Molosser group.
The Boxer was first exhibited in a dog show for St. Bernards at Munich in 1895, the first Boxer club being founded the next year. Based on 2007 American Kennel Club statistics, Boxers are the sixth most popular breed of dog in the United States—moving up from the seventh spot for the first time since 2002—with 33,548 new dog registrations during the year.
History
————-
The Boxer is part of the Molosser group, developed in Germany in the late 1800s from the now extinct Bullenbeisser, a dog of Mastiff descent, and Bulldogs brought in from England. The Bullenbeisser had been working as a hunting dog for centuries, employed in the pursuit of bear, wild boar, and deer. Its task was to seize the prey and hold it until the hunters arrived. In later years, faster dogs were favored and a smaller Bullenbeisser was bred in Brabant, in northern Belgium. It is generally accepted that the Brabanter Bullenbeisser was a direct ancestor of today’s Boxer.
In 1894, three Germans by the name of Roberth, Konig, and Hopner decided to stabilize the breed and put it on exhibition at a dog show. This was done in Munich in 1895, and the next year they founded the first Boxer Club, the Deutscher Boxer Club. The Club went on to publish the first Boxer breed standard in 1902, a detailed document that has not been changed much to this day.
The breed was introduced to other parts of Europe in the late 19th century and to the United States around the turn of the century. The American Kennel Club (AKC) registered the first Boxer in 1904, and recognized the first Boxer champion, Dampf vom Dom, in 1915. During World War I, the Boxer was co-opted for military work, acting as a valuable messenger dog, pack-carrier, attack dog, and guard dog. It was not until after World War II that the Boxer became popular around the world. Boxer mascots, taken home by returning soldiers, introduced the dog to a much wider audience and it soon became a favorite as a companion, a show dog, and a guard dog.”

Hi! Well we have a female boxer dog and shes a year old this november, we have tryed training her but she does what she wants, runs away when she gets the chance and acts like a dog gone mad sometimes.lol. Shes booked in for an operation (no pups for her) on tuesday, will that calm her down? Plus im due to have a baby on thursday, so i need all the help i can get. Thank u ![]()
I agree with the exercise and wear ‘em out advice! However, you might want to check you aren’t feeding her too much protein which can gee them up big time. As she’s coming up to one, she can afford to drop to say a max of 20% protein now. It might help.
Spaying should help, but it usually doesn’t alter the temperament of a b itch quite as much as it does with the boys. Basically she needs to grow up!! This is a go-go breed and you might well be looking at her being two before she starts to slow down, a bit! But enjoy her while she’s young. They quickly reach middle and old age you know.
The breeder of your girl might have some useful advice for you, based on what’s normal for the breed?
Good luck with her op. and your birth!
My boxer puppies are 3 weeks old and starting to get their teeth. Born 6/3/08. When should I start them on dog food? What kind? Do I mix it with water?
I liked weening puppies on things I’d make in the blender. When I weened early I used baby rice cereal to make the formula a bit more solid. If they were ultra young I used up my remaining goats milk or esblac with the cereal, and as time went on I added things like cooked egg yokes. Later as in 3 1/2 – 4 weeks I would add cottage cheese, chicken, etc. Also I would sit with them and use a baby spoon to teach them where the food was, sometimes that works really fast. When in a hurry or I wanted them cleaner I used a huge syringe without the needle and put the formula in their mouths. With a day or two they figure out how to eat on their own. Many people do put kibble in the blender with some milk as a starter food though. I just had spoiled puppies, but they had extra nutrients and were healthier from it I think.

we have a new boxer dog, and he is overweight. please could you help me with any info regarding diets or food information that could help me. Thank You.
Whatever you are feeding now, cut it in half, simple. No treats, no table food, no anything other then what the dog eats. When the weight starts to drop in a couple of weeks, start an exercise program, walking, swimming, whatever is easier for you!
